[LCA2019 Chat] temperature in the conference

I would caution that Steven has a local's perception of temperature....
At the moment outside it's 11 degrees C.
Before acclimatizing to this place I would have classed today as "#%@#!
freezing, one notch above winter".
So it depends on where you come from.... and the weather on the day.
Our weather is mostly determined by a (near weekly) cycle of cold fronts
sweeping across the southern oceans... if we have a Southerly (like right
now)... it will be substantially cold(er).
Otherwise it should be (mostly) a balmy warm summer. :-)
If you aim to go to the Alp's in the before / after conference.... the
peaks near Arthur's Pass are currently below freezing with a wind chill of
-6 at the moment.
But on a warm day will be quite pleasant.
